Description
These lightweight composite construction enclosures and cases can be supplied as standalone products or as part of an integrated packaging solution. Hundreds of users worldwide have trusted the survival and operational efficiency of their equipment to this excellent range of transportable enclosures and transit cases.
The company offers a broad line of standard transit cases, containers, and 19-inch rack mount enclosures, including EMI/RFI shielded products, and has the ability to customise products for virtually any application. This range can accommodate a wide variety of electronic solutions and incorporates excellent survivability and longevity with built in resistant to projectile impact. The units are hermetically sealed and have full MIL-Spec test history.

Transportable Enclosures
Transportable electronic enclosures are available in many standard sizes including rigid rack mount models, vibration protected models and shock protected models. Standard 19" rack dimensions range from 3U to 27U in height and from 8.63" to 30" in depth. Custom enclosure dimensions exceed 60 inches in rack height, 36 inches in rack depth and up to triple rack widths. These enclosures are made using the same processes as the transit cases and can be equipped with an integrated group of options. Key features include;
• Operating cases with rigid 19" rack
• Operating cases with reinforced 19" rack mounted for lateral shocks
• Operating cases with standard 19" rack mounted on 45° suspensions
• Opening front and rear
• Heights available from 3U (5.25") to 27U (47.25")
• Rack depths available from 219mm (8.63") to 762mm (30")
• Optional hardware includes platforms, drawers and storage pouches
• Ventilation and air-conditioning options
Transit Cases
Transit cases and reusable containers are manufactured in many styles and materials. These containers are available as valise cases, commercial transit cases and fully qualified military containers. Standard designs are readily available in a vast assortment of sizes. Standard materials include thermoset composites, thermoplastic composites and non-reinforced thermoplastics. These containers can also be equipped with a full range of mechanical options and EMI/RFI shielding. Key features include:
• Monoblocs and modular shells in GRP, carbon epoxy & Kevlar epoxy
• Aluminium anodized extrusions
• Hardware in steel zinc dichromate finish (stainless on request)
• Internal support cushions designed to meet specified shock & vibration requirements
• Sealing for moisture or full immersion
Custom Designed Products
Elma-Mektron can also provide custom designed transportable and transit case products using excellent engineering resources that provide creative solutions for unusual application requirements. Modular design techniques are used for very unique products. The integrated manufacturing capabilities of the company are used to implement each design and to build high quality products that are ideally suited to individual applications. These custom products range from specialised versions of standard containers and enclosures to custom moulded composite parts.
EMI/RFI Shielding
The company is capable of adding a variety of layers of conductive material into or onto the container or enclosure shells. Most commonly one or more piles of nickel web mat are sprayed with a metallic surface coating and/or sprayed with conductive finishes. Broad range frequecy attenuation is attainable. |
