Ensuring maximum partnership benefits to our customers the company’s multifaceted defence engineering design capabilities proudly scope mechanical, electrical, electronic, transmission line/backplane, flexi-rigid circuit, thermal management, EMC, TEMPEST, power, ‘systems engineering’ and I/O interconnection schemes. Elma-Mektron also undertake hardware and operating system software integration and qualification/type approval testing.
Support for virtually all bus-based architectures is available including VME, VME64, VPX, CPCI, PCI, PC/104, ATCA, uATCA and proprietary.
Elma-Mektron is an approved supplier to many major international blue chip commercial and defence companies and has extensive involvement in numerous major defence programmes. The company has full BS EN ISO 9001/2000 accreditation and is a recognised authority on rugged COTS system enclosures, integration technology, thermal management and EMC. Additionally Elma-Mektron has its own high-investment EMC pre-compliance test facility, incorporates 100% test and inspection, CE conformity and a "right first time" high quality ethos - all of which enables the company to continually exceed customers' expectations.
In October 2005 Mektron was acquired by Elma Electronics AG and in November 2007 it moved to new purpose-built facilities on the Southern outskirts of Bedford.
